Research Associate

Open Sesame Therapeutics GmbH is a dynamic biotech start-up based in Dresden, focused on developing delivery systems for macromolecule therapeutics. Currently operating in stealth mode to protect its innovations in this early phase, the company was founded by Prof. Marino Zerial and Dr. Ivan Baines as a spin-off from the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) . By leveraging its expertise in endocytosis and endosomal transport, Open Sesame Therapeutics (OST) aims to discover novel receptors and ligands for precise targeting of specific cells or tissues, while pioneering new strategies to improve endosomal escape of macromolecule therapeutics.

Open Sesame Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate or Research Technician with a background in synthetic chemistry to support an interdisciplinary project focused on synthesizing and characterizing novel lipid compounds for tissue-specific nanovesicles. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who is organized, flexible, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, or a chemistry technical education (CTA Ausbildung) or equivalent
• Documented experience in synthetic chemistry
• Proficiency in English, with good communication and data presentation skills

Desired Qualifications

• Synthetic chemistry; Experience in lipid chemistry would be advantageous
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting

Pay: 3.000,00€ – 5.500,00€ per month
