The Cybersecurity Specialist / Cybersecurity Engineer / Cloud Security Architect protects an organisation’s systems, applications, data, networks, and cloud environments from cyber threats and security risks. This role combines security engineering, architecture, monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and risk assessment to build and maintain secure, resilient technology environments.
The position works closely with Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Software Development, IT Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and business teams to design security controls and resolve security issues. Responsibilities include assessing vulnerabilities, configuring security tools, monitoring alerts, reviewing access controls, supporting secure cloud deployments, investigating incidents, and recommending improvements to security architecture and operational practices.
The role also supports security governance by developing standards, reviewing technical designs, maintaining documentation, and helping teams meet internal policies and regulatory requirements. It translates technical risks into clear recommendations for stakeholders, promotes secure-by-design practices, and strengthens the organisation’s ability to detect, prevent, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents.
