Senior Software Systems Engineer Web Security
Mission
As a Software Systems Engineer, you will develop and operate highly scalable and globally deployed web security solutions. You will be part of the core team that develops and shapes web security services for a large customer base, constantly prioritizing security, quality, and monitoring. Your responsibilities include product integration, the development of tools, and the management infrastructure for these services.
This position provides the opportunity to be involved in product development from the concept phase through to production deployment and operations.
Additionally, you will become certified as a Mission Control Engineer, gaining knowledge in a broad area covering networking and security topics, and may visit Network Operations Centers in Honolulu, Hawaii for three‑month deployments.
Qualifications
- Higher education (ETH, university, FH) with a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Knowledge of network protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, and HTTPS
- Experience with Linux or UNIX-based operating systems
- Experience in software engineering with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Perl, Python) and a concurrent compiled language (e.g., Golang, C#, C++)
- Proficiency in English
- Competence to work both in a team and independently
- Inclusive and clear communication skills
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of network security concepts and practices
- Knowledge of container and cloud technologies
- Knowledge and experience with secure web gateways (e.g., TLS interception)
- Knowledge of monitoring principles
- Knowledge of software and system testing practices
