For our client, a multinational IT company, we are looking for you as a Community Engagement Specialist (m/f/d) in Cologne.

Our client is one of the the largest vendor of computer software in the world.

It is also a leading provider of cloud computing services, video games, computer and gaming hardware, search and other online services.

The Community Engagement Specialist will support the Community Affairs Manager in on-the-ground community engagement resource in Cologne, helping manage local relationships around the construction sites, support community investment execution, and ensure community feedback is consistently captured, escalated, and reflected in planning and reporting.

The role is intended to increase local responsiveness, improve operational coordination, and reinforce trust with external stakeholders at a time when the project footprint and visibility in the region are growing.

  • Visiting construction sites on a regular basis and assessing potential community impacts.
  • Maintaining regular contact with neighbours and local stakeholders as construction progresses, including supporting agreed one-on-one stakeholder and community meetings under the guidance of Community Affairs lead.
  • Managing day-to-day engagement with the General Contractor’s community engagement point of contact, reviewing contractor-led community-facing materials, and helping ensure content is aligned with internal tone of voice and engagement standards.
  • Monitoring and documenting concerns related to construction activity.
  • Coordinating timely responses with internal and external partners, ensuring that community-facing issues are not managed in isolation from project delivery.
  • Hands‑on support for the implementation of community investment activities in Cologne and the surrounding area.
  • Experience in infrastructure development and/or construction.
  • Experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, or a related external-facing role in Cologne area.
  • Native-level German language skills and strong professional English.
  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships with local stakeholders, including neighbours, municipalities, partners, and contractors, and skills to handle high-stakes engagements with varying sentiment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple workstreams and managing execution details in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to monitor, document, and elevate issues with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting community programs, social investment initiatives, or cross-sector projects, including follow-up and evaluation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear internal updates and concise reporting.
  • Comfort working with a high degree of autonomy while remaining closely aligned with internal teams and business priorities.
  • Good understanding of the local context and sensitivity to local community dynamics would be a strong advantage.
  • Fluency in German and strong professional English language skills.
