Orkestra is on a mission to help teams deploy new energy solutions to the world’s businesses.
We are seeking a business development manager looking to lead our German market entry!
Location: 100% Remote, within Germany.
About Us
Orkestra Technologies is a rapidly growing Australian-based software startup that is revolutionising the way new energy projects are deployed. Our software principally helps salespeople and analysts selling commercial new energy projects, such as solar, batteries, and electric vehicles, to perform financial analysis on hundreds of project options and identify financially optimal solutions for business customers.
We have fast become the market leader in Australia with most energy service companies and solar installers serving the commercial and industrial sector in Australia and New Zealand using our software.
We are now seeking a Lead Account Executive to lead our European market entry, starting with Germany. In the near term, we will be looking for rapid expansion throughout Europe. You’ll be supported by Orkestra’s Co-CEO, co-founder and Head of Growth, James Allston, who is moving to Europe in early 2025 to lead European operations. There is also significant resource and budget allocation to establish a marketing, sales and customer success team in Europe.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong background in commercial new energy, enterprise selling and startup environments, as well as a passion for clean tech and energy.
About the Role
Leveraging the Orkestra growth team’s success in Australia and supported by Orkestra’s Head of Growth, you will be responsible for growing Orkestra’s account base in Germany. Initially this will require targeted account based marketing and business development to acquire early adopter customers. After establishing our initial position in Germany, you will support the Head of Growth to build a high performing customer success team to enable rapid growth and expansion.
You will be selling to energy companies, solar installers, renewable energy financiers, renewable energy developers and energy consultants.
You will report to James Allston – Co-CEO and Head of Growth, directly inputting into the growth strategy and leading growth initiatives. You will also work closely with Chris Cooper – Co-CEO – who heads the product team, feeding into our product roadmap.
This is a 100% remote, full time position based in Germany. While we have a healthy travel allowance for this role, we expect most sales to be possible via video calls and travel will typically be to industry events only. Immediately upon the role commencing, we’ll fly you to Australia to work with and learn from the Australian growth team.
You’ll need to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and be comfortable undertaking a wide variety of growth tasks from marketing to business development.
About you
This role will suit you if you:
- Have at least three (3) years of experience in the commercial solar and batteries sales.
- Have strong analytical skills, are familiar with new energy technology and business models, and are able to adeptly use our software to demonstrate how to analyse and sell new energy projects.
- Have a proven track record of enterprise or B2B selling and revenue growth in fields of new energy.

- Have a highly collaborative working style.
- Have excellent communication skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Have pragmatism.
- Have a great attitude.
- Are a problem solver and genuinely enjoy helping users/customers.
- Are happy to work 100% remotely with a limited team in your timezone.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will be:
- Responsible for achieving growth targets for the business with close support from the Head of Growth and a growing customer success team.
