MISSION
The Senior Technical Trainer (Operator) is responsible for designing, developing and delivering operator training to OSI's global customers and company personnel. The incumbent ensures customers are equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely, effectively, and confidently operate OSI systems. The role also provides targeted training support to company personnel, as needed, and contributes technical training expertise to business development and proposal activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs, develops and delivers a range of technical training courses to external and internal audiences based on the Systems Approach to Training (SAT)
- Competent across all phases of SAT: Analysis, Design, Development, Implement and Evaluate
- Develops and maintains inputs to operator training materials to ensure currency and quality
- Develops and maintains operator training resources and systems
- Liaises closely with the Project Management Office, Engineering, and Product Development teams to ensure that operator training material keeps abreast with system deployment
- Liaises with People Operations staff to ensure internal operator training needs are met
- Keeps current with emerging trends and techniques to deliver cost effective, efficient training
- Provide inputs for operator training design and development to support proposals
- Contributes to the development of OSI Training Strategy and Policy
DECISION MAKING & AUTHORITY
- Carries out authority on the revision and release of operator training materials
- Applies judgment and makes decisions to solve routine or complex issues during training execution
- Exercise judgment in handling confidential client / OSI information
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Naval experience in operations is a requirement
- Experience in teaching or instructing Naval students is a requirement
- Strong skills and experience in executing Systems Approach to Training; familiar with naval training methodologies
- Experience in training technologies such as simulators and virtual training environments is a strong asset
- Knowledge and understanding of delivering technical training to adult audiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work within a matrix organization requiring a high level of negotiation and interpersonal skills with internal and external contacts
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to achieve NATO security clearance
- Overseas travel availability is required
