Job Title: Purchasing Manager – OTC and Non-Prescription Medications
Reports to: Head of Purchasing
Position Overview: As the Purchasing Manager for OTC and non-prescription medications, you are responsible for procuring high-quality, cost-effective products and raw materials. You play a key role in strategically selecting and evaluating suppliers, as well as developing and expanding our product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Market Analysis and Competitive Monitoring:
- Conduct market analyses to understand the latest trends and developments in the non-prescription and OTC product sectors.
- Monitor competitors and identify opportunities for product differentiation.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, qualify, and develop relationships with suppliers that meet our quality standards and price expectations.
- Conduct price and contract negotiations to secure optimal terms.
- Product Sourcing and Management:
- Procure raw materials and finished products that comply with legal regulations and company standards.
- Manage the product portfolio by introducing new products and adjusting or discontinuing existing ones.
- Quality Control:
- Collaborate closely with the quality control department to ensure all sourced products meet necessary certifications and standards, including GMP, ISO, and other relevant regulations.
- Organize and oversee regular quality audits and supplier evaluations.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Create and maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, supplier contracts, and quality audit reports.
- Ensure all procurement processes comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Innovation Promotion:
- Identify innovative product ideas and support the introduction of new OTC products that address market needs and differentiate from competitors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Solid understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent negotiation skills and strategic thinking.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in both German and English.
