Outlook Therapeutics (Nasdaq: OTLK) is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company redefining the standard of care in retinal disease. Our lead product is the first ophthalmic formulation of its kind to receive Marketing Authorization from the European Commission, the US FDA, and the UK MHRA for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), and is now launching across Germany, Austria, the UK, and the United States. Driven by the stories of the patients we serve, we are united with the vision-care community around a single goal: a future where everyone with retinal disease can envision a brighter world.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reports To: Medical Lead, Europe

Dotted line to Head of Europe

Level: Director

Location: Germany – Hybrid (home-based with regular travel across Germany and to European team onsites)

Employment Type: Full-time

Direct Reports: No

This is a rare ground-floor moment at a company hitting its commercial inflection point. As a lean, fast-moving organization, we offer scope and ownership that larger companies can’t: your work is visible, your decisions matter, and you’ll help build the function rather than simply maintain it. You’ll partner directly with senior leadership and see a clear line between what you do and patients gaining access to a new treatment option.

You will contribute to the medical strategy for Germany and ensure excellence in execution of the strategy. You will become the trusted scientific voice for German retina specialists, payers, and authorities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Own the Germany medical strategy

  • Function as the primary medical point of contact in Germany.
  • Translate the European medical strategy into German-market priorities – scientific narrative, evidence gaps, data-generation opportunities, and congress presence.
  • Engage in well informed, compliant, robust, and accurate scientific exchange around the treatment of wet AMD, and the science surrounding LYTENAVA™ (bevacizumab gamma).
  • Develop and track Strategic KOL engagement plans - identify, develop, and maintain long‑term collaborative relationships with KOLs within assigned region.
  • Engage in medical & scientific exchange with the medical/scientific community including advisory boards, congresses, and HCP offices.
  • Build relationships and assist in the development of key opinion leaders.
  • Build relationships with key decision makers in health systems, medical groups, healthcare provider offices, advocacy organizations, and national/regional professional societies.
  • Identify, attend and report on local/regional educational events such as national symposia and scientific/clinical meetings and CME events.
  • Provide insight into market trends and clinical intelligence.
  • Provide the medical input into AMNOG benefit‑assessment work, G‑BA and payer interactions, and medical review of promotional and non‑promotional materials in partnership with Market Access, Regulatory, and Commercial.

Be the scientific face of the company in Germany

  • Build and personally maintain relationships with national retina thought leaders, academic centers, professional societies, and patient organizations.
  • Lead scientific exchange at national and regional congresses, advisory boards, and investigator meetings; deliver medical education to internal and external audiences in German and English.
  • Serve as the country's point of contact for medical information escalations and investigator‑initiated study proposals, ensuring every interaction is compliant and documented.

Operate as a cross‑functional partner

  • Partner daily with the Germany commercial, market access, and regulatory leads to hit country‑level milestones; own the medical workstreams in Germany.
  • Ensure all medical activities comply with German law, the FSA/AKG codes, EFPIA, and company SOPs; be the person who knows where the lines are and keeps the team well inside them.
  • Report progress against the country medical plan with candor – wins, misses, and what changes next.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

Required

  • Advanced scientific or medical degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent); a medical degree is a plus but not required.
  • Fluent German and professional English, written and spoken.
  • Ophthalmology or retina therapeutic‑area experience, or experience with biologics in a specialist hospital setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in medical affairs, field medical, or clinical roles in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry in Germany, with a track record of measurable results – we care more about what you have delivered than how many years it took.
  • Working knowledge of the German healthcare and pricing environment (AMNOG/G-BA, KV/GKV landscape) and the codes governing medical–HCP interaction.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously with minimal direction: you set your own priorities, make decisions with incomplete information, and own the outcome.
  • Exceptional work ethic and drive – you are energized by ambitious targets and a small team where everything you do is visible.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Germany and periodically across Europe.

Preferred

  • Launch experience in a specialty or hospital product, ideally as part of a small or first‑in‑country team.
  • Experience contributing to AMNOG dossiers, advisory boards, or investigator‑initiated study programs

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive base salary, annual performance bonus, and equity — so you share in the value you help create
  • A high‑trust, low‑bureaucracy culture with direct access to leadership and real room to grow
  • Mission‑driven work that helps preserve sight for patients who are counting on it
