About the Role We are looking for a highly
hands-on Procurement & Supply Chain Manager
to support our
Nanoindentation product line within our Materials Analysis business .
Our materials analysis solutions enable scientists and engineers to understand the mechanical properties of materials at the micro- and nanoscale, supporting innovation across industries such as semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, and research.
This is not a strategic, although there is scope to shape what supply chain looks like for our nanoindenter team in the future – it is a
deeply operational position , focused on ensuring that all parts, components, and materials are available exactly when needed to keep production running.
You will take ownership of
day-to-day procurement execution, inbound logistics, and inventory control , directly impacting the performance and reliability of a highly specialised scientific product line.
What You’ll Be Doing
Owning
end-to-end purchasing operations
to support production of precision materials analysis instruments
Ensuring
continuous material availability , preventing any disruption to assembly and build schedules
Managing
inbound logistics , including shipment tracking, goods receipt, and invoice matching
Working closely with engineering and production teams supporting
nanoindentation systems used in materials characterisation
Actively managing suppliers to deliver on
quality, cost, and lead time
requirements
Negotiating
pricing, lead times, and supply agreements
Setting and maintaining
inventory levels
aligned to demand and risk
Performing
stock control and inventory accuracy checks
Identifying and mitigating
supply chain risks

Implementing contingency plans to ensure
continuity of supply for critical components
Supporting
incoming quality processes
to ensure all materials meet specifications required for high-precision instruments
Acting as
Deputy Production Manager
when required
What We’re Looking For
Experience in
operational procurement or supply chain
within a
manufacturing, engineering, or scientific instrumentation environment
Proven ability to
keep production running through effective material availability management
Hands‑on experience with: Purchasing and supplier coordination, Inventory and stock management, Inbound logistics and supply flow
Ability to operate effectively in a
precision, low‑volume / high‑complexity environment

Experience working with
technical components or engineered systems
Strong problem‑solving mindset, with the ability to react quickly to production needs
Confidence working cross‑functionally with
engineering, operations, and production teams
