Job Description Purpose of the Position (Brief Description of Responsibilities):

Operates typical machinery, heavy vehicles and construction equipment Works in winter maintenance services and, when necessary, on 24/7 standby duty

Job Responsibilities:

• Operates and maintains machinery, heavy vehicles and construction equipment
• Processes the work documents related to the machines
• Works under difficult working conditions, e.g., waste, water, sludge, excrement, fumes and dust
• Wears assigned protective clothing and equipment
• Supports other trades with their tasks as needed
• Follows company procedures as well as DIN, EN, UVV, VDE and ISO standards
• Maintains all operationally required work documents
• Participates in further training in the interest of the company
• Works in the company workshops and at other work locations of Project Kaiserslautern
• Performs other operationally necessary tasks as directed by his supervisor
• May be called upon at any time to work outdoors
• Works in winter maintenance services and, when necessary, on 24/7 standby duty
• Variety-specific propagation, efficient and environmentally sound cultivation, soil cultivation and care, preservation of soil fertility
• Mows lawns
• Trims hedges, shrubs, trees and other plants
• Collects and disposes of leaves, clippings, garbage, debris, etc.
• Cleans open ditches and street drains
• Performs excavation work of all kinds
• Is familiar with the handling of common materials as well as machinery, tools, operating equipment and work equipment

Required Qualifications:

• Completed vocational training or equivalent training and at least three years of work involving the operation of machinery, heavy vehicles and construction equipment
• Possession of a valid Class C driver's license required
• Must be mentally and physically fit to perform all tasks, in particular lifting and carrying heavy objects
• Sufficient knowledge of English and German required to understand instructions and complete documents

Other Responsibilities:

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. Requires climbing on ladders, scaffolding, and platforms standing, bending, and working in cramped areas; lifting and carrying tools and equipment which occasionally may weigh over 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
