Purpose and Scope
The QEHS Technician is responsible for implementation and compliance of the Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Environmental, Health and Safety Programs, in accordance with ISO, OSHA, contract specifications and the Quality Management System (QMS) for the site designated. This role is responsible for all quality, environmental and safety activities, conducting product quality and safety inspections, reviews and monitoring the Amentum Quality Control Program (QCP) at the site to ensure QC Inspectors maintain standards per the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Technical Orders/Manuals and ISO Standards. Ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), OSHA 1910, and Amentum ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and review data from the EHS reporting system to capture safety, health, and environmental statistics for tracking metrics, and create standard reports and presentations required for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Assist the Site Manager in tracking and recording injuries to create reports/deliverables for submittal to the government.
- Oversee and maintain the assigned EHS and Quality SharePoint library and key documentation for compliance purposes and proposals.
- Co-ordinate and monitor EHS training requirements for personnel, including technical and professional certifications.
- Perform daily data entry from field quality inspection and audit processes, while providing front‑line review of provided information to ensure data quality meets site requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety practices, support Safety Policies and Procedures, and instill a safety‑first mentality within respective work areas.
- Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions to support the Quality Management System.
- Coordinate the Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety Department and its Auditors/Inspectors to ensure successful and effective completion of required audits per Internal Audit procedure and industry standards.
- Provide guidance to the Site Manager on significant changes to the quality management system that directly impact site operations.
- Facilitate Root Cause analysis discovery for site‑level NCRs, ensuring corrective action and preventive action are acceptable and validate NCRs prior to input in QMS.
- Track, monitor and control site inputs into the quality system, ensuring compliance with QMS.
- Provide continuous development training to site‑level Internal Auditors and oversee the SIF/QCIF program to ensure site personnel correctly manage these quality processes.
- Process, evaluate, and submit on time completed Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs), Preventative Action Requests (PARs), Self‑Inspections and audit reports to PMQ.
- Professionally liaise with USAF CORs and assist them with site quality issues.
- Prepare reports and generate metrics as necessary to communicate site compliance with QMS.
- Perform other tasks and duties as appropriate, including attendance at Site Manager Staff Meetings, preparation of personnel performance reports, and any other tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Provide supervision, direction and training to all QC Inspectors under their supervision.
- Ensure the completion of maintenance forms such as work orders, parts request sheets and maintenance sheets and train others in the proper documentation procedures.
- Ensure safety practices and housekeeping are maintained to the highest standard.
- Check repairs to ensure the highest quality repair standards are met and validate that only current, up‑to‑date Technical Orders and commercial manuals are used.
- Perform random In‑Process and Final Product inspections on Production, Inspection, and Maintenance operations, reviewing production and inspection schedules, work orders and historical records for accuracy and timely completion.
- Perform random inspections on tools, shop equipment, safety equipment and protective clothing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; AA, BS, BA or other college degree preferred.
- Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience in progressively more responsible EHS and/or Quality role.
- Six‑Sigma Greenbelt a plus.
- Knowledge of database development and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of EHS training practices, metrics, and programs.
- Working knowledge of applicable OSHA regulations.
- Ability to understand, collate and interpret EHS metrics and prepare reports and presentations per Amentum needs.
- Ability to understand contractual requirements and how they apply.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Additional knowledge/skills may be required by assignment or contract and will be listed separately.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Authorization to work in host country.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands
OCONUS: Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. Work may be in an office, maintenance shop, or warehouse environment and may require working outdoors for extended periods. Potentially prolonged sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Must possess planning/organizing skills and be able to work under deadlines. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures. Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting, pushing or pulling a minimum of 50 lbs.
Compensation
50,000 – 55,000 EUR (based on role responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and relevant laws). Actual compensation may vary.
