We are a small, fast-moving product team building web-based B2B SaaS applications. We are hiring a senior UX designer on a freelance / part-time basis to design and maintain the UX across our products. You will own end-to-end product design (flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, and a reusable design system) for data-dense interfaces.
Scope of Work
-
Refine and evolve the product UX: audit the interface, iterate on usability, and raise the bar on visual polish.
-
Design end-to-end product flows for data-dense screens: dashboards, tables, multi-step workflows, search, and settings.
-
Produce wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity screens in Figma.
-
Build and maintain a reusable design system aligned to shadcn/ui and Tailwind (tokens, components, states, responsive behaviour) so designs translate cleanly into code.
-
Support the design-to-code handoff with annotated specs and clear component structure, working closely with the build side.
-
Apply the same design system and UX standards to additional products and internal tools as they come online.
-
Keep the work accessible (WCAG AA) and visually consistent across products.
Skills & Experience Required
-
5 years of product / UX design for B2B SaaS, with a portfolio of shipped work.
-
Strong experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces (dashboards, tables, multi-step workflows), not primarily marketing pages or consumer mobile apps.
-
Expert in Figma: auto-layout, variables and tokens, components, and prototyping.
-
Proven design-system experience, building and maintaining component libraries.
-
Familiarity with modern component-driven front-ends (React / Next.js) and design-to-code workflows; comfortable designing to a Tailwind / shadcn-style system.
-
Solid information architecture, interaction design, and ownership of flows end to end.
-
Self-directed and reliable in an async, remote, part-time engagement.
Portfolio & Proof of Work (required)
A live portfolio link. Applications without one are considered incomplete.
2 to 3 case studies covering B2B SaaS or data-dense product work, showing problem, process, and outcome, not only the final screens.
At least one example of a design system or component library you built or maintained.
A Figma file (view access or a representative sample) so we can see structure, auto-layout hygiene, and component thinking.
Strong to have: work on complex, multi-feature products, and evidence of collaborating directly with developers on handoff.
