Data Engineer (all genders) Matchmaking

To strengthen our Data Engineering team, we are currently looking for a dedicated full‑time Data Engineer (all genders). Together with colleagues from Data Engineering, Business Insights, Data Science/AI/ML, and other departments, you will actively shape our data‑driven business model and drive the further development of our data architecture for the matchmaking business (Parship, ElitePartner, eharmony). We love automating processes to create data‑driven self‑service solutions that offer real added value.

Minimum Qualifications

• A degree in (business) computer science or comparable training with a focus on IT, as well as professional experience in data engineering or in an analytics environment
• Experience in developing and operating data processes on data platforms – ideally with a focus on business insights or AI/ML use cases
• Confident knowledge of multidimensional data modeling and processing with SQL, as well as data processing with Python
• You enjoy working in a team, think analytically, and are continuously developing your technical skills – and you share your knowledge with others
• You have very good English skills to navigate our international environment with confidence

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with technologies such as Snowflake, AWS, GitLab, Airflow, dbt, and Iceberg Tables
• Know‑how in CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Familiarity with semantic data modeling and the use of modern AI‑powered talk‑to‑your‑data tools such as AskSigma and Snowflake Intelligence to generate AI‑powered insights
• German language skills are a plus

What you can expect

• You will run robust ETL/ELT workflows on Snowflake (e.g., with Airflow) from ingest to the data mart layer
• You will model and transform high-performance SQL/Python jobs and dbt models (tests, documentation, deployment) for scalable, maintainable data products
• Data quality and governance: Ensure validations, monitoring/alerting, lineage/catalog, security/RBAC, and compliance in day‑to‑day business
• Deliver semantic models and data views that reliably supply BI (Sigma) and AI/ML use cases in matchmaking (Parship, ElitePartner, eharmony)
• Automation & operations: Use orchestration, CI/CD (GitLab), IaC; optimize costs/performance and professionally manage incidents/root cause analyses
