With a strong commercial mindset, the team helps enable the business while protecting the firm’s interests and reputation.Partners Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced (Senior) Legal Counsel, Data Privacy & Technology to join its Corporate Legal team in Zug, Munich or London. In this role, you will help shape the firm’s approach to data privacy and technology law across its global operations, with a particular focus on Europe and the GDPR.You will advise on compliance with data privacy regulations, support technology-related legal matters, and work closely with management and key stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks. The role offers broad exposure to strategically important, high-impact projects, as well as significant scope to take ownership and drive meaningful change.Key roles and responsibilities:Be a strategic advisor to stakeholders (including senior management) on data privacy, AI, cybersecurity and technology lawDrive and continuously improve GDPR compliance (and related frameworks), flagging emerging risks early and proposing practical responsesLead negotiation and drafting of commercial agreements (e.g., MSAs, tech and HR contracts), including DPAs and TIAsBuild and evolve data protection governance: policies, procedures, templates and decision-making frameworks that scale globallyLead the legal response to data breaches and data subject requests, coordinating with relevant functionsCreate and deliver privacy training and awareness that actually sticks and supports a privacy-by-design cultureSteer global privacy initiatives and act as an internal subject matter expert people want to involve earlyManage external counsel efficiently and serve as a key contact point for regulators/public authorities when needed

Law degree and bar admission (Swiss bar admission a plus)4–10 years of relevant experience (international law firm and/or in-house; financial services and/or tech exposure preferred)Strong, hands-on knowledge of GDPR and privacy risk management in real-world business settingsProven strength in drafting/negotiating technology and commercial contracts, including privacy and data transfer provisionsConfident judgment under pressure (e.g., incident response) with the ability to balance legal risk, urgency, and business prioritiesClear communicator who can simplify complex topics and influence decisions across levels and functionsOrganised, pragmatic, improvement-minded—someone who leaves things better than they found themFluent English; German is an advantageWhat we offer
