  • What you can expect
  • As an

Associate Partner , you will play a key role in our Chemistry team, combining sophisticated patent advice with strategic client management, team leadership and business development.

  • Independent management of sophisticated national and international clients
  • Strategic management of patent portfolios – from developing long-term IP strategies to implementing and coordinating international patent portfolios
  • Drafting, developing and strategically managing patent applications, as well as communicating and negotiating with patent offices
  • Conducting and independently managing opposition and appeal proceedings before the German and European Patent Offices, including experience in complex contentious matters
  • Advising and strategically supporting international clients, particularly US and Japanese companies
  • Close collaboration with international colleagues on cross-border patent projects
  • Taking responsibility for teams and projects and leading interdisciplinary teams on complex matters
  • Mentoring and developing junior patent attorneys and patent attorney trainees
  • Contributing to the further development of our working methods, processes and strategies within the Chemistry practice
  • Actively contributing to our business development: identifying new business opportunities, strengthening existing client relationships and building long-term relationships with new clients
  • Representing our firm at national and international conferences, professional events and industry events
  • Working closely with our partners and having the opportunity to actively shape the strategic development of our Chemistry practice

  • What sets you apart
  • As a Patent Attorney
  • At least 10 years of professional experience
  • German and European patent attorney qualifications
  • Excellent university degree in Chemistry or a comparable field
  • Extensive experience in patent prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings, as well as patent portfolio management
  • Experience advising international clients, preferably US and Japanese clients
  • Experience in team leadership, mentoring and business development
  • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
