Overview
In this role, you lead tax across Central and Eastern Europe, coordinating with local teams and the group tax function to ensure compliant, efficient tax governance. You’ll manage cross-border tax matters for key entities (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland) and shape group-wide tax strategy, while partnering with finance, legal, and officers to optimize tax positions. The role offers exposure to IFRS, local GAAPs, and transfer pricing, within a global payments technology company on a scalable, sustainability-driven mission. You will influence tax policy, risk management, and process improvements across the tax cluster.

Verantwortungsbereiche
- Manage tax aspects for subsidiaries in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Poland, including country-specific structuring, transfer pricing, interest limitation, and consolidation
- Support local finance for IFRS and local accounting rules, ensuring correct application of IFRS and tax standards
- Own tax processes at Group level for the Tax Cluster, coordinating with local teams, Group Finance, and external advisors
- Provide tax guidance to group tax, finance, legal, and operations on CIT, VAT, and country-specific taxes, identifying issues and solutions
- Conduct tax monitoring, develop local tax manuals/guides, and train finance/tax teams as needed
- Oversee tax audits and relations with authorities, coordinating responses with external advisors
- Anticipate tax risks across the cluster and adapt to regulatory changes, coordinating with Group tax
- Support group/local teams on reporting and tax computation, optimize processes, and harmonize submissions
- Monitor legislation and case law developments to enable proactive adaptations
Zentrale Anforderungen
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in international direct taxation (Big4, international law firm, or multinational)
- Graduation from university in Tax Law or Tax Economics
- Professional proficiency in English and German
- Expertise in Excel and SAP reporting tools
- Strong analytical, independent, proactive mindset with excellent written communication
- Ability to interface with group tax, finance, and legal teams across jurisdictions
- Knowledge of payments, eCommerce, or FinTech is a plus
