This role represents a great opportunity for you to drive business development in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. It offers exciting professional exposure to different areas of reinsurance business and gives the opportunity for important interaction with various stakeholders, including brokers and cedants.
Working closely with the analytics team, your contribution will be vital in acquiring and evaluating opportunities from new and existing markets, for Property, Casualty and Specialty lines of business.
You will need to build on existing work to develop market intelligence and product-line expertise for the various territories of CEE.
Job Responsibilities
- Cooperate with Pricing and Modelling teams in acquiring and evaluating property business opportunities in the Central and Eastern Europe region.
- Collaborate with the other underwriting teams as required by the underwriting guidelines.
- Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with Cedants and Brokers.
- Develop relevant market intelligence and product expertise.
- Work with Analytics to ensure appropriate and consistent quantitative analysis.
- Promote Peak Re’s Branding in the market.
Job Requirements
- University degree or equivalent.
- At least 7-10 years’ experience in Reinsurance/Insurance and in-depth knowledge of Treaty underwriting in the CEE region: Knowledge of property markets is a must, multi-line P&C as well as Specialty Lines experience is welcome.
- Knowledge of local markets, underwriting practices and regulations.
- Understanding of pricing and modelling techniques and their application to individual treaties, with the capacity to challenge and validate pricing approach.
- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data, working independently with decision-making capability.
- Ability to understand insurance and reinsurance market environment to identify opportunities and build a sustainable business portfolio.
- Ability to evaluate contractual documents against applicable underwriting guidelines and give advice on improvements where necessary.
- Good command of spoken and written English and or more additional languages in the region.
- Knowledge of commonly used IT tools (MS Office, Excel, etc.).
- Knowledge of catastrophic models (Moody’s RMS, Verisk).
- Willingness to travel.
