Global Purchasing Category Manager

Location: Germany (Remote)

Must have fluent German language

Your Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and coordination of the Global Category Mechanical Components within Global Sourcing.
2. Structuring and controlling the global procurement volume as well as designing the procurement structure for all national and international locations.
3. Analyzing and promoting synergies within the group.
4. Managing and developing the global supplier pool, as well as key suppliers within the Global Category Mechanical Components.
5. Comprehensive analysis of internal needs and requirements, as well as analysis of procurement markets.
6. Deriving and implementing a results-oriented material group strategy with a focus on bundling and standardizing global needs – of course in close collaboration with the specialist departments and Bartec locations.
7. Negotiating and concluding framework agreements, including country-specific implementation.
8. Monitoring supplier-related KPIs, creating relevant reports, and deriving and implementing supplier development measures.
9. Objective of this demanding position: Long-term and sustainable reduction of purchasing costs (TCO), ensuring delivery quality, and optimizing the supplier pool.

What You Bring:

1. Successfully completed economic or technical studies or comparable training.
2. 5-10+ years of experience in strategic purchasing of mechanical components, particularly stamped and bent parts, machined parts, cast and injection-molded parts according to drawings in internationally operating companies.
3. Proficient in cost analysis, contract design, negotiation techniques, and project management.
4. Structured, goal-oriented working style.
5. Convincing communication with international colleagues and suppliers – both written and verbal – negotiation skills in German and English, additional languages are advantageous.
6. Very good MS Office skills, especially in Excel.
7. Knowledge of SAP and/or Infor is an advantage.
8. Willingness to travel.
