As a Senior HR & Payroll Specialist, you will be the backbone of our operational excellence across Europe. In the sophisticated world of Life Insurance, accuracy and regulatory compliance are our north stars. You will master the technicalities of Luxembourgish payroll while acting as the strategic conductor for our European branches. This is not just a "back-office" role; it is a 360° HR position where you influence employee experience from onboarding to offboarding.
Key Responsibilities- Core Payroll Management (Luxembourg & International)
- Lead end-to-end payroll for the Luxembourg entity, ensuring 100% accuracy and compliance with local tax and social security laws.
- Supervise and coordinate external payroll providers across our European footprint (BE, FR, IT, ES, PT, UK).
- Ensure the timeliness and consistency of data flow between internal HR systems and external vendors.
- Manage specific insurance-sector benefits (e.g., sector-specific pension schemes, health insurance, and car policies).
- HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Drive the administrative journey for new hires across all jurisdictions, ensuring a premium "first-day" experience.
- Contract Management: Draft and update employment contracts, addendums, and HR documents tailored to local legislations.
- Single Point of Contact: Act as the trusted advisor for employees regarding payroll, social security, and benefits queries.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all HR processes align with the stringent regulatory requirements of the Insurance sector (including GDPR and internal audits).
- Coordinate annual processes: salary reviews, bonus calculations, and tax declarations.
- Produce regular HR analytics and headcount reports for the Management Committee.
- Education: Degree in HR, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in Luxembourgish payroll, ideally within the Financial Services or Insurance sector
- International Exposure: Proven experience managing or supervising payroll in at least one other European jurisdiction
- Languages: Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken). Any other European language (Italian, Spanish, Portuguese) is a strong asset
- Technical Skills: Advanced command of Excel; familiarity with Luxembourgish payroll software (e.g., APSAL, DATEV) and HRIS tools
- Soft Skills: High level of discretion, rigorous attention to detail, and a "problem-solver" mindset. You enjoy working in a multicultural, dynamic team where mutual support is essential
