Our client is a leading European mid-market sector-specialist investor focusing on businesses that provide mission-critical goods and services across its three core sectors: Business Services, Industrial Tech, and Healthcare. With over 200 investment professionals across 11 offices, they have established a strong track record across multiple fund cycles and continue their success story. They are now seeking a Portfolio Monitoring & Development Professional to join their team in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and play an integral role within the PMD team, focusing on portfolio companies across various geographies.
What the job involves
- Conduct monthly analysis of a set of portfolio companies (including, but not limited to, monthly report packages and board deck analyses)
- Lead monthly results discussions with portfolio companies (usually with the company’s CFO)
- Prepare performance and value creation reports for the Portfolio Committee
- Present PMD’s views and recommendations for each portfolio company to the Portfolio Committee
- Prepare quarterly investment reports for investors and respond to ad hoc investor requests
- Conduct valuations of portfolio companies
- Perform quality control
- Model and improve existing reporting tools
- Develop business partnerships with Deal Teams to provide actionable and forward-looking insights that support the achievement of investment goals
- Participate in finance excellence projects at various portfolio companies
Who we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business studies with excellent academic records
- Several years of experience in transaction services, valuation, or audit at a Big 4 firm
- Prior experience in the industry is welcome
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Detail-oriented and driven to deliver high-quality results
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Objective and factual, with proven judgment – critical when needed
- Self-motivated and able to excel in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Fluent in English and German; Scandinavian languages are a plus
