We are seeking a Senior Field Engineer to join our client’s team, collaborating with the development teams of a leading global automotive company. In this role, you will act as a critical link between our client and customers, providing hands-on technical support while contributing to the design and implementation of advanced semi-autonomous driving systems. Your efforts will directly influence innovative solutions that will be integrated into millions of vehicles worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with development teams to address technical challenges and ensure seamless integration of advanced systems.
- Act as the primary liaison between the company and its customers.
- Install, configure, and deploy evaluation systems on prototype vehicles, including tasks such as mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, network setup, and software version updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve multidisciplinary system issues, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Conduct and oversee test drives on public roads and test tracks to validate system performance.
- Support vehicle production lines, integration facilities, and perform office-based tasks as required.
- Collaborate closely with development, validation, and engineering teams to test and optimize end-to-end system functionality.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Linux and a solid understanding of various operating systems.
- Minimum of 2 years in technical roles that involve direct interaction with customers.
- Practical experience with installation processes, including mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and soldering.
- Proven ability to configure and troubleshoot computer systems, operating platforms, and protocol-based hardware.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as OBD2 scanners, multimeters, oscilloscopes, battery analyzers, and network sniffers.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hardware and software integration, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptable to dynamic work environments and shifting priorities.
- Highly self-driven, organized, and capable of independently handling responsibilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a talent for fostering strong customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Fluency in both German and English.
