Research Histopathology Technologist
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Execute end-to-end workflows for tissue specimens, including processing, embedding, sectioning, staining (including immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH) and immunofluorescence (IF)) and digital pathology techniques such as whole slide scanning
Perform quality control, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting across a range of histology lab instruments to ensure high-quality data production
Provide training and support in the use of histology equipment, and collaborate with laboratory scientists to optimize tissue-based assays in early drug discovery research projects
Must Haves:
You hold a university degree in the life sciences or are a Laboratory Technologist with at least 3 years of histology laboratory experience
You have exceptional skills in the histological preparation of mammalian tissues, including hands-on experience in fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining techniques, along with an in-depth knowledge of the operation and maintenance of histological laboratory equipment, and a solid understanding of regulations for assay documentation to ensure high-quality data generation
You are a skilled experimentalist with a keen attention to detail along with robust manual dexterity and precision handling of delicate samples, such as cryopreserved nervous-system tissues, to ensure accurate and reproducible tissue preparation (e.g. cryosectioning, sectioning of in vitro samples such as organoids
Customer-focused with a drive for growth and a questioning mindset. Skilled in creative problem-solving, organization, and implementing innovative ideas efficiently in a fast-paced research context
Excellent communicators with a high fluency in English, a desire to continuously build a personal network and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment which gives you full accountability for your own contributions and development
