Job Title: Simulation Expert for Battery Systems (m/f/d)
The Technology Development & Simulation in the Center of Excellence (CoE) Battery shapes future battery technologies in all components – from battery cells, through electrical/electronics, to the complete battery system. Additionally, Technology Development consolidates all simulation scopes and competencies within the CoE Battery. This includes not only the development of simulation methods and associated IT infrastructure but also the support of technology, concept, and series projects with simulations of all thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties of the battery.
Possible Tasks of this Role:
- Managing simulation activities of the battery system from the technology development phase through to series production
- Acting as a system architect for electrical/mechanical/thermal simulations
- Dedicated project management, including steering the project team and external calculation service providers
- Simulation-based design of battery systems and calculation of project-specific requirements
- Calibrating and validating simulation processes through planning, analysis, and comparison of test results
Qualification Requirements:
- Completed studies in mechanical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a comparable qualification
- Advanced knowledge in continuum mechanics, statics and dynamics, as well as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and modeling
- Advanced knowledge in simulation methods (FEM, CFD) and simulation tools (Ansa, Matlab/Simulink, Modelica, PAM Crash, Loco, Animator, or similar)
- Programming experience (Python, Java, or similar) as well as basic Linux knowledge is desirable
