Legal Counsel - Commercial (d/f/m)

This position is a hybrid role based in Munich, Berlin, or London (fluency in German is essential).

Join our Finance, Strategy, & Legal team and use your expertise to investigate problems, define solutions, and guide decisions as Personio’s co-pilot.

We’re looking for an innovative and original thinker to join the Commercial Legal team, embracing our ethos of “doing less, better”. We seek a business-minded lawyer with a strong understanding of technology contracts and experience managing high-volume commercial transactions.

Be our expert in providing commercial legal support to protect and actively drive the company\’s growth.

Role Responsibilities:

• Ensure processes remain fast and legally compliant as we grow, acting as a strategic business partner.
• Support legal matters related to selling our software, focusing on Revenue & Success and Customer Experience teams.
• Collaborate across departments to minimize risks, optimize processes, and develop procedures aligned with legal and industry standards.
• Participate in projects to improve legal processes, including training, CLM tool management, and AI integration in line with company strategy.

Role Requirements:

• Fully qualified German lawyer (state exams or law degree with bachelor and master).
• Fluent in German and English, with additional European languages a plus.
• 4-7 years post-qualification experience in a technology company\’s sales organization.
• Proactive, autonomous problem solver with strong communication skills.
• Experience negotiating commercial agreements like DPA, SaaS subscriptions, and RFPs; EVB-IT experience is a bonus.
• Enthusiastic about AI\’s role in legal work and eager to leverage AI tools.
• A positive, solutions-oriented attitude and a good sense of humor are essential.
