Project Management Officer in Bern

Bern Vollzeit Kein Homeoffice möglich
P

What's on offer

  • Attractive salary package up to 170.000 CHF!
  • Hybrid working model — up to 2 days home office per week after probation
  • A strategic, individual-contributor PMO role with direct visibility to senior leadership (no team management involved)
  • Modern offices in Bern with structured onboarding and support for professional development

The role

  • Own and continuously develop project governance standards, methodologies, templates and processes across the organisation
  • Oversee the project portfolio — tracking progress, priorities, resources, costs, dependencies and risk
  • Deliver clear, structured monthly project reporting to senior leadership to support key decisions
  • Partner closely with project leads and technical teams, constructively challenging plans to keep delivery on track
  • Proactively identify and escalated risks, dependencies and capacity constraints
  • Occasionally lead smaller or strategic projects directly

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in a PMO, project governance, or senior project management role, ideally within an international, technology-driven environment
  • A relevant certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or IPMA) — genuinely important for this role, not just a nice-to-have
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent professional education), ideally in IT, Business Administration or a related field
  • Fluent English (C1+); German or other European languages an advantage
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Eligible to work in Switzerland — Swiss/EU nationals or valid Swiss work permit holders
  • Based in Bern or willing to relocate there
