To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (m/f/d) with a focus on PostgreSQL databases.
You can expect a modern and constantly evolving IT infrastructure, consisting of Linux servers (Ubuntu), VMware ESXi and vSphere, Puppet, GitHub Enterprise, Docker, Kubernetes, and much more.
Your tasks include:
- Performance optimization and tuning of our PostgreSQL databases according to requirements, in close coordination with the development teams.
- Analyzing and troubleshooting database issues to ensure high availability and stability.
- Proactively monitoring and identifying performance bottlenecks and implementing optimization measures.
- Further development and improvement of the existing PostgreSQL database environment.
- Implementing and maintaining backup and recovery processes in complex replication environments.
What you bring:
- A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification (e.g., IT specialist).
- Several years of experience in the administration and performance optimization of PostgreSQL databases, especially in tuning and troubleshooting.
- Very good knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, replication technologies, and high availability solutions.
- Understanding of the specific requirements of enterprise applications and their impact on database performance.
- Strong Linux knowledge, particularly in Ubuntu, as well as experience with the configuration management tool Puppet.
- Independent and structured working style, and enjoyment of solving complex technical challenges.
- Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
