Vaccines Marketing Director (m/f/d)

What you can expect:

  1. Owns and leads the strategy for all inline assets within Vaccines BU. Leads the Marketing Team (Country Brand Leads, Marketing trainees, working students).
  2. Is responsible for the implementation of global strategies and tactics across all assets with appropriate tailoring to meet market specific needs using a combination of environmental analyses, HCP and patient insights and in-depth understanding of payer/policy maker positions.
  3. Develops and directs marketing programs where applicable. Ensures a Patients First approach is taken with all key strategies and tactics; develops long-term relationships with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. patient groups, HCP Associations).
  4. Directs market plan and/or launch programs to create demand and maximize sales of a specific product, product line, or product area.
  5. Ensures the patient journey is mapped and understood for key indications with patient insights and needs incorporated into plans.
  6. Ensures full understanding of current treatment paradigms and patient, HCP and payer attitudes towards the treatment of the therapeutic area.
  7. Set-up and leadership of market XFT with membership to include regulatory, medical, market access and local policy and public affairs.
  8. Influences & tailors global communications plan and data to local needs and executes global campaign(s) at local level leveraging country specific data and available outcomes resources.
  9. Engages local patient advocacy groups and physician groups in the therapeutic area and works to ensure support of communications plan.
  10. Engages, in association with local market access, payers to ensure burden of illness to health systems is understood and ensure full understanding of payer requirements. Communicates value of our medicines within responsible indication.
  11. Supports and supplements Vaccines lead with external stakeholder communications objectives and plans.
  12. Works closely with global team to implement and launch campaigns through digital channels whilst leveraging innovative methods of engagement with critical stakeholders.
  13. Manages therapeutic area budget and leads therapeutic area OP for Germany.
  14. Feeds into global market research projects as appropriate.
  15. Develops innovative, advanced new concepts that improve processes / products across own and related disciplines.
  16. Leads with example both towards direct reports and in the x-functional environment.
  17. Manages performance of direct and indirect reports and supports Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit objectives through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching and performance evaluation.
  18. Develops a talent base and recognizes development needs and identifies/creates development opportunities (e.g., special assignments) for colleagues within own Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit.

What you offer:

  1. Several years pharmaceutical commercial (marketing and/or sales) experience with access experience is a plus.
  2. Proven success in brand/portfolio management at country or global level.
  3. Knowledge and experience in Vaccines is preferred, not required.
  4. Deep understanding of the German healthcare system.
  5. Vast experience in strategy development with a particular focus on Market Access levers.
  6. Experience in developing innovative digital approaches to business challenges and a forward looking mindset regarding digital transformation.
  7. Bachelor’s Degree; Master degree, PhD or MBA desired.
  8. Strong cross-functional collaborative skills and ability to deliver stretching results in matrix complex situations.
  9. Proven ability to perform effectively in a complex, changing environment (across brands, markets, functions, cultures) and professional maturity to deal with ambiguity.
  10. Strong strategic skills including ability to balance short term needs and long term vision.
  11. Upholding values/adhering to standards, role modelling, visibility and inspirational leadership.
