A growing share of Phare's work is billed to clients in Germany, and the German bookkeeping still sits with an outside office. We're bringing it in-house.
The Junior Accountant runs it, working with our tax adviser. A short call with the finance lead in Miami usually falls in your late afternoon.
Full-time, remote from anywhere in Germany. Our leadership is in Miami, six hours behind, so a few calls land in your afternoon.
Your first months
First month: You book incoming and outgoing invoices and match payments to them.
By month three: Bank accounts and open items are reconciled every week, and you prepare the monthly close and the VAT figures for the tax adviser. Project expenses are tracked and recharged to clients.
By month six: Auditors and the tax adviser come to you for documents, and get the right ones.
What you bring
- Completed commercial training, or a degree in business or accounting
- First experience in bookkeeping, including internships
- Excel, including SUMIFS and pivot tables
Also useful: DATEV or SAP FI, German VAT rules, a Bilanzbuchhalter course started or planned.
What Phare offers
You get a permanent, full-time contract; work from home anywhere in Germany; 30 days of holiday plus public holidays; an employer contribution to a company pension (bAV); a yearly budget for courses, certifications and books; your laptop and home desk setup; and flexible hours around a few shared core hours.
Phare Consulting Group is a consulting firm in Miami. Companies come to us before a big decision, such as a price change, a new market or an investment, and we check whether the numbers behind it hold up. Our team in Germany works with clients there.
