The University of Fribourg Environmental Sciences and Humanities Institute (UniFR_ESH Institute) coordinates and promotes environmental and sustainability research and teaching at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. Our group in environmental humanities and ethics places emphasis on ethical issues of environmental practice and the just distribution of environmental burdens and differentiation of responsibilities. Position
We are seeking a 75% diploma assistant (31.5 hours per week). Starting date
1. February 2025. Responsibilities
Teaching 1–2 courses each academic year (2 hours per week, in English and German/French, partly co-teaching) Support of the chair in environmental humanities in research and teaching Support of administration and organization of the UniFR_ESH institute Realization of a PhD project in environmental ethics, climate ethics, food ethics or another field relating to the research clusters of the UniFR_ESH institute Requirements
Outstanding Master’s degree in philosophy or a related field Interest and capacity to work in an interdisciplinary context Ability to work in a highly collaborative fashion Extraordinary skills in English, French and/or German Contract and environment
The university offers a four-year contract with the possibility of extension up to five years. We offer a vibrant research environment in a team of applied ethicists all working on different interdisciplinary contexts of environmental challenges. Application
