Postdoctoral Research Assistant (m/f/d) in the Field of Particle Physics in Berlin

The High Energy Group of Humboldt-University of Humboldt is seeking to hire a post-doctoral researcher to work on diHiggs to 4b analyses.

Your Tasks

• Teaching and Scientific research in the field of particle physics, particularly regarding Standard Model di-Higgs production and the search for new heavy particles and effects in Higgs pair processes using the ATLAS detector
• Data analysis, identification of b-quarks and Higgs bosons
• Preparation of reports and supervision of students
• Tasks for your own scientific qualification (habilitation)

Your Profile

• Completed university degree in physics and a PhD in experimental particle physics
• Research experience in experimental particle physics and in the analysis of large datasets
• Knowledge and experience with jets, b-quark/X → bb identification, and machine learning
• Profound knowledge of Linux operating systems, C++, and Python
• Goal-oriented, structured work approach, and a high degree of self-organization
• Excellent communication skills, confident demeanor, and excellent written and spoken English and German (at least C1 level)
• Willingness to travel for work
