Applications are invited for Research Associate (postdoc) positions in the field of quantum field approaches to gravity and cosmology to be held in the Abdus Salam Centre for Theoretical Physics / Theoretical Physics Group at Imperial College London to start autumn 2026.
Members of the Centre undertake world‑leading research in key areas of cosmology, gravity, particle physics, and quantum theory and comprises Prof. Shai Chester, Prof. Carlo Contaldi, Prof. Claudia de Rham, Prof. Fay Dowker, Prof. Tim Evans, Prof. Jerome Gauntlett, Prof. Jonathan Halliwell, Prof. Amihay Hanany, Prof. Chris Hull, Prof. Shota Komatsu, Prof. João Magueijo, Prof. Arttu Rajantie, Prof. Andrew Tolley, Prof. Arkady Tseytlin, Prof. Daniel Waldram, and Prof. Toby Wiseman.
This is a fixed‑term appointment for two years with potential extension subject to progress and funding.

Eligibility criteria
- Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics or equivalent.
- Outstanding research experience in a broad range of advanced techniques including cutting‑edge QFT techniques applied to gravity, amplitude approaches to quantum gravity, scattering amplitudes, effective field theories including for cosmology and gravity and connections with UV completion.
- Experience of dealing with the theoretical physics community, setting and maintaining new international networks of collaborations, mentoring junior peers (postdocs, PhD students, MSci, MSc and UG students in theoretical physics) through projects and journal clubs.
- Experience in giving talks at internationally recognised conferences and workshops.
- Experience in carrying out research of high quality, independently and in a team, with evidence provided by a portfolio of high‑quality research publications.
