Pixel Systems is adding a Project Management Internship to our team to help us manage a growing list of technical projects. We are currently working closely with our partner, a leading German infrastructure group, to rebuild and modernize several of their internal logistics and tracking systems. This internship is an opportunity to learn how a remote agency operates while gaining hands-on experience in coordinating software development work. You will assist in translating client requirements into actionable tasks for our developers and ensuring that our documentation remains as clear as our code.
About us
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything: the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos. We are a senior team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends.
The role
In this role, you will be the bridge between our technical team and the client. Much of your time will be spent assisting with our work for the German infrastructure group, where we are managing complex data sets and internal operations tools. This is a fully remote position, so you will need to be comfortable using digital tools to stay organized and keep projects on track. Your day-to-day work will involve attending client meetings, taking detailed notes, and helping to organize our task boards. You will help break down large requests into smaller tickets and follow up with developers to make sure they have the context they need to finish their work. Because we value transparency at Pixel Systems, you will also help draft the weekly update reports and record short walkthrough videos to show our clients exactly what we have built each week.
What you bring
We are looking for someone who is organized by nature and enjoys bringing order to a list of tasks. You do not need years of experience, but you should have a basic understanding of how software is made. You might have managed a small project in a university setting, worked in a role that required high attention to detail, or perhaps you have a personal interest in how technical systems work. You need to be a strong writer who can explain technical concepts in plain English. Since we are a small team, we need someone who can work independently and isn't afraid to ask questions when they are stuck. Being comfortable with a remote setup is essential, as is the ability to manage your own time effectively across different projects.
Helpful background
Working here is different from working at a large tech firm. We have very few management layers and no interest in long, aimless meetings. We focus on providing actual value to the people who use our software, whether they are warehouse managers or operations teams. This is a fully remote internship, allowing you to work from your own space while staying connected through Slack and video calls. We are a direct, honest group that values clarity and follows through on our promises. This is a paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the role and the current market. You will get to see how projects are run from start to finish and learn how to manage technical delivery in a way that is practical and predictable.
Our goal is to build software that lasts and to provide our clients with a service that is reliable. We avoid drama and complexity in favor of getting the job done. If you enjoy solving problems and want to see how software projects are managed without the typical corporate fluff, you will fit in well here. You will spend your time learning how to balance client needs with technical reality, all while working with a team that values your contributions from the first week.
