About the Role

Key Responsibilities
Provide expert legal counsel and representation to individuals accused of criminal offenses. Conduct comprehensive investigations, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and analyzing case details. Develop effective defense strategies based on the specifics of each case. Draft and file all necessary legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and appeals. Represent clients in court proceedings, including bail hearings, trials, and sentencing hearings. Negotiate plea bargains with prosecutors when appropriate and in the client's best interest. Advise clients on their rights and the legal process throughout their case. Requirements
Admitted Attorney with a proven track record in criminal defense law. Minimum of 4 years of experience handling a variety of criminal cases. In-depth knowledge of criminal law, criminal procedure, and evidence rules in South Africa. Excellent courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and client communication skills.
