About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Mine Maintenance Technician to join their team in Queenstown . You will be responsible for the preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mining equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and minimize downtime. This hands-on role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, along with a commitment to safety. You will work within a dedicated maintenance team, contributing directly to the smooth running of the mining operations. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver who takes pride in maintaining critical machinery. Key Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on a variety of mining equipment, including heavy machinery, conveyors, and processing plant components. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in mining equipment. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime. Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide repairs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment status. Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental procedures and regulations. Requirements
Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Electrician, or similar relevant trade. Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems. Familiarity with a range of mining equipment (e.g., crushers, screens, underground loaders). Knowledge of workshop safety procedures and safe work practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often in challenging conditions. Benefits
