About the Role Our client, a highly respected architectural practice with a global reach, is seeking a meticulous and experienced Construction Documentation Specialist to join their team on a fully remote basis. This role is crucial for translating complex architectural designs into precise, buildable construction documents. You will work closely with design architects and project managers to produce detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules that form the backbone of any construction project. The fully remote nature of this position allows for a dedicated focus on producing high-quality documentation, with the flexibility to manage your work environment. Your attention to detail will be paramount in ensuring the successful and accurate execution of projects worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed construction drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and detail drawings using BIM software.
Prepare comprehensive technical specifications for building materials, systems, and finishes.
Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering documents.
Ensure all documentation complies with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
Review shop drawings and submittals from contractors for compliance with design intent.
Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documents.
Maintain and organize project documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project managers in a remote setting.
Identify and resolve documentation issues that may arise during the design and construction phases.
Requirements
A degree or diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 6 years of experience specifically in architectural construction documentation.
Expert proficiency in Autodesk Revit is essential; AutoCAD proficiency is also required.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Ability to produce accurate and detailed construction drawings and specifications.
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, vital for remote collaboration.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines remotely.
Experience with other relevant software such as Bluebeam or Navisworks is an advantage.
