The Digital Engineering Faculty of the University of Potsdam and HPI offers a unique computer science engineering degree program in Germany.
As part of our growth, the Hasso Plattner Institute seeks to fill a position starting as soon as possible. The role is full-time with a two-year contract, with a strong possibility for permanence.
In the coming years, HPI will expand its services for the international HPI alumni network. This position will lead our marketing and customer relationship management efforts for alumni via our website, community portal, and social media, working closely with the alumni team and our communication and marketing departments. We are a young, purpose-driven partnerships team seeking a team player to join our engaged alumni management team.
Key job responsibilities
- Content Strategy: Develop and implement innovative content strategies for our alumni community to enhance our online presence and foster the HPI alumni network.
- Content Creation: Produce high-quality graphics, videos, and social media posts for our community portal and LinkedIn to strengthen alumni engagement and identification with HPI.
- Website & Newsletters: Write and update website content for the HPI Alumni website and create texts for alumni newsletters via HPI XRM (MS Dynamics).
- Data Management: Manage alumni data within HPI XRM systems and the community portal.
- Community Engagement and CRM: Actively engage with our alumni community through the \’HPI Alumni and Career Portal\‘ and online channels such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and the Alumni Portal.
- Performance Analysis: Regularly analyze performance metrics, identify optimization opportunities, and implement measures to ensure continuous growth of alumni partnerships and platform success.
- Collaboration: Partner with other HPI teams, including marketing and communications, to execute a cohesive alumni content calendar aligned with the HPI brand.
Job requirements and experience
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a marketing manager, content creator, media manager, or similar, preferably within a university or alumni/community management context.
- Minimum of 3 years\‘ experience in customer relationship management, with proven expertise as a CRM or XRM manager or administrator of customer databases.
- Over 5 years\‘ experience in project management, including content creation for newsletters, print, and online publications in German and English.
- Extensive experience with content management systems such as Typo3 or similar tools.
- Educational background: a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, their audiences, and engagement best practices.
- Comprehensive knowledge of web content management systems like Typo3 and Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong team collaboration skills, a growth mindset, and excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and goal-oriented.
