ph3JPO - Policy Analyst, Effective Development Cooperation /h3 pPosted: /p h3Job Overview /h3 pThis post is critical for strengthening UNDP’s role as a thought leader on development effectiveness and a partner of choice in supporting multi‑stakeholder partnerships for the 2030 Agenda. As part of the OECD-UNDP Joint Support Team, the role will support the functioning of the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), including policy and data analysis, knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, and global project management. The position reports to the Policy Specialist – Effective Development Cooperation under the guidance of the Team Lead. /p h3Key Duties and Accountabilities /h3 ul liContribute to the roll‑out of the 5th GPEDC monitoring round. /li liSupport all activities related to the GPEDC monitoring exercise, focusing on partner‑country engagement. /li liCompile country‑level policy documents related to development effectiveness and organise resources for global sharing. /li liDevelop country‑led stories that showcase enhanced impact in development effectiveness, drafting and editing materials for GPEDC communications. /li liProduce policy briefs and relevant policy documents on effectiveness and impact of international development cooperation, including ODA, triangular cooperation, and private‑sector engagement. /li liStrengthen the GPEDC monitoring framework and process; support preparation of global reports, country profiles, and context‑specific profiles. /li liAdvocate and share knowledge on development effectiveness through communications and knowledge‑sharing activities. /li liDraft and edit substantive GPEDC materials such as concept notes, moderation notes, speaker invitations, biographies, and other communications material. /li liSupport GPEDC communications activities, including website updates, material promotion, press releases, and social media toolkits. /li liAssist partner‑country governments on the GPEDC Steering Committee, driving engagement and action on the GPEDC Work Programme. /li liWrite short blogs and stories summarising government‑led Action Dialogues on effective development cooperation. /li liUpdate the GPEDC website and communications channels. /li liProvide operational and substantive support to key effectiveness forums, including the Busan Forum. /li liPrepare substantive materials for GPEDC High‑Level Meetings and the biennial Busan Forum. /li liOrganise event logistics, manage participant lists, invitations, and registrations. /li liMaintain regular communication with host/donor throughout event planning. /li /ul h3Education Requirements /h3 pAdvanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Public Policy, Politics, Economics, Development Studies or a related area is required. A first‑level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the above-mentioned field, combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience, will be given due consideration in lieu of an advanced degree. /p h3Experience, Knowledge, and Skills /h3 pA minimum of two (2) years (with a master’s degree) or four (4) years (with a bachelor’s degree) of paid experience working with large datasets on development cooperation, development partnerships, and/or sustainable development is required. Experience producing policy and programme guidance notes, mapping and synthesising knowledge and evidence on effective development cooperation, and undertaking country‑level analysis is required. Experience with international bodies, a UN agency or multilateral organization, and support to a multi‑stakeholder initiative is advantageous. Familiarity with the GPEDC and experience in multi‑donor funded project management, including background documentation, budgets, and donor reports, is desirable. /p h3Language Requirements /h3 pFluency in English and Korean is required. Working knowledge of another UN language, particularly French or Spanish, is desirable. A valid English proficiency certificate (TOEFL iBT 100, TEPS 430, IELTS 7, or TOEIC 900) is required; test scores are valid for two years. /p h3Nationality and Age of Applicant /h3 pThe position is open only to nationals of the Republic of Korea. Applicants must not be older than 32 years of age as of 31 December 2026 (born after 1 January 1994). Military service extensions apply as follows: one year for service 1 year, two years for service 1–2 years, and three years for service ≥2 years. Male applicants must have completed or be exempt from Korean military service.
