Accounting Manager DACH

Job Summary
Accounting Manager DACH is a key role supporting the DACH region. This role has full responsibility for financial statements, audits, SOX, Corporate Income Tax (from tax provision to tax filings), following global accounting policies and other ad-hoc projects for the region. The Accounting Manager would report to Regional Finance Manager and will lead one Accountant.

This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Finance, Business Unit Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal and Corporate Accounting.

Essential Functions

• Lead the review and maintenance of accurate and timely monthly reporting and statutory accounts in compliance with relevant regulations and standards mainly for German, Austria and Swiss entities – Full responsibility of Balance and Profit and Loss Accounts.
• DACH entities tax compliance, adapting processes and reviewing where possible to ensure best practice.
• Supervise VAT for DACH entities.
• Providing oversight on certain control reviews and control implementation, include account reconciliations and other key controls for local and US GAAP.
• Working with External Auditors to support Avient’s audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function, implementing best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.
• Support regional and corporate initiatives.
• Other projects according to business requirements.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8/10 years + experience in Accounting and Corporate Income Tax with preference experience with a Big 4.
• Corporate Income Tax knowledge.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and German; any other European language is a strong asset.
• Organizational skills, a self-starter with high level of analytical skills and resilience.
• Working knowledge of SAP highly desirable.
• US GAAP, GAAP in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
• ACCA or local equivalent completed.
• Experience with SOX Compliance.
• Working knowledge of Hyperion, SAP.
