Inventory Control Coordinator
Position Overview
Supervise, lead, and direct the warehouse team assigned to the Inventory Control department. Coordinate daily activities to ensure they align with company service and cost objectives. Secondary responsibilities include managing a Quality Control program and handling additional project responsibilities as they arise.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prioritize daily work schedules for the warehouse team and set productivity targets
- Resolve operational, system-related, and dealership issues in the inventory area
- Monitor and replenish supplies and equipment needed in the inventory area
- Provide coaching and develop a productive work team
- Ensure timely updates of daily operation reports and data entry (O/S, Damage, Ocean Log, Productivity Tracking, etc.)
- Train personnel in receiving and inventory functions
- Manage inventory count activities, improve inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance with auditor requirements
- Supervise quality control personnel and maintain parts locations for efficiency
- Oversee the pre-pack program to reduce freight claims
- Monitor and comply with customs and import requirements
- Conduct annual performance reviews and counsel staff on performance issues
- Ensure proper inventory checks and quality control of designated products
- Analyze and modify parts storage processes, equipment, and layouts to meet business needs
- Review inventory pick frequencies and modify storage rules or recommend dispositions
- Monitor transactional activities like freight lines, variance reports, PO and ETA reports, claims, etc.
- Maintain RF picking devices
- Open and close the facility as required
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor\’s degree in Business Management or Logistics/Supply Chain preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 5+ years in parts warehouse inventory control
- 5+ years supervisory experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Experience in assigning work and supervising staff effectively
- Knowledge of computerized parts systems, including SAP
- Experience in receiving, inventory, and parts return processes
- Understanding of IT security policies and safeguarding confidential information
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in MS Office, Parts & Warehouse Systems
- Solid knowledge of inventory management procedures and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ability to operate material handling and RF equipment
Schedule/Shift: M-F 9-5
Physical Requirements
- Open warehouse environment with variable temperatures
- Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds
- Sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and extensive standing/walking on concrete surfaces
- Flexible work hours, including weekends and overtime as needed
- Ability to work effectively in noisy environments
The salary range is $65,000 to $73,000 annually, dependent on location and individual factors such as education, experience, and skills.
