PORTWEST , a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Area Sales Manager Northern Hesse. You will be based in a region within the postcodes of 30, 31, 38 and 39 or nearby area within driving distance of your main customers. Portwest is one of the fastest growing workwear companies in the world currently employing over 5500 staff worldwide, with customer service staff in over 160 countries and 8 Global warehouses in UK, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Spain, UAE, USA and Australia. We design, manufacture and distribute market leading workwear, safety wear and PPE in fully owned production facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Area Sales Manager Northern Hesse, you will bring your PPE and/or workwear experience to sell Portwest products to distributors reporting into the Country Manager. We have had extensive growth over the past number of years and we are looking for you to join to continue this growth trajectory. Among your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Build quality business relationships with new and existing accounts.
  2. Conduct daily face-to-face sales meetings to maintain and develop relationships with distributors, resellers and agents.
  3. Identify existing customers with high growth potential and create a roadmap for their further development.
  4. Identify new business opportunities and complete sales planning schedule.
  5. Utilise strategies to win new business on a continuous and consistent basis.
  6. Engage in consultative selling by identifying customers’ needs and provide a Portwest solution to meet those needs.
  7. Develop clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
  8. Focus on selling new Portwest products by bringing samples to each meeting.
  9. Ensure effective after meeting follow up to close sales.
  10. Conduct ongoing development of market intelligence, including marketing events such as trade shows, seminars, exhibitions and journals which is fed back to the business.
  11. Promote distributor promotions on our products with end users.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

To become the Area Sales Manager, you will need:

  1. Ideally upwards of 1 year PPE, workwear or safety wear sales experience.
  2. Experience selling on behalf of a manufacturer, distributor, reseller or agent is ideal.
  3. Sales experience in a related industry who shares the same industrial distributor network will also be considered such as Tools, Chemicals, Welding, MRO’s etc.
  4. Appetite to continue sales growth of Portwest through field sales.
  5. Clean driving licence and willingness to drive throughout your designated region.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

We offer a competitive package including base salary, commission and company car which is commensurate with experience. You will receive training through the Portwest University training department on our products, sales methodology and digital sales systems. You will join an established team who understand our products, sales approach and target market. You and your customers will be supported with excellent digital systems for quotes and customer orders and we have an excellent supply chain network which ensures customer satisfaction.
