Role overview
As an Implementation Consultant, you will join a global team, having an exciting opportunity to interact with corporations and better understand how corporations are run in today’s markets. Within this program, we offer extensive training, mentoring, and guidance to help you start on the path to a successful career in consulting at Thomson Reuters. You will be trained in best practices and methodologies and gain the technical and functional skills required to participate in enterprise software projects that support Global Trade and Compliance departments. These projects include implementing enterprise software, content, and services for our customers.
Summary of Position
The Implementation Consultant will work closely with Project Managers to lead implementations of Global Trade software for corporations to manage product classifications, exports, imports, foreign trade zones (FTZ), and more. We deliver enterprise Global Trade and Compliance software that provides critical information and software solutions to companies of all sizes.
About you
Responsibilities
- Interact with Global Trade, Compliance, and Technology professionals in Fortune 500 clients.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions and formulate design/solution documentation.
- Engage with other internal teams, such as Product Management & Engineering within Thomson Reuters, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Delegate project tasks to other project members to ensure delivery of all related requirements.
- Prepare and execute test scripts and test cases.
- Explain system issues/problems and solutions to Global Trade, Compliance, and technical staff.
- Work with clients to translate their business processes and policies into our Solutions.
- Complete tasks and take project ownership with limited supervision.
- Perform technical or functional roles on medium to large projects.
Mandatory Experience and Skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills and know how to share information professionally and concisely.
- Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in working with computers and standard business software like Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to be a self-starter.
- Creative problem-solving skills & motivated to drive innovation.
- Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
- SQL proficiency
Highly Desirable Skills/Experience
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Exposure to Global Trade, Supply Chain Businesses, Indirect Tax, or Compliance processes.
- Experience with process analysis, design & mapping.
- Experience working or integrating with third-party enterprise trade products (e.g. ONESOURCE Global Trade, Integration Point, Descartes, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Technical knowledge of databases and programming languages like C# and/or VB.NET.
- Experience creating and executing test cases and test scripts.
- 10% travel, as needed, to client sites for project kick-off, offsite training, and industry events, and assist with implementations.
Education Required
- Higher Education Degree or Diploma – Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, International Business, or Computer Science preferred
