Role Summary

The following position is to join RTX Corporate team. This is a commodity role on the Electronics Commodity team, supporting both the Interconnected & Harness sub-categories. Responsibilities include developing strategy, partnering with internal stakeholders, sourcing, negotiating, and executing agreements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop a strategic plan for a commodity and supply base.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units to execute supply chain strategies.
  • Own and build relationships with multiple strategic suppliers.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers on price competitiveness, capability, quality, reliability (TCO).
  • Analyze data and determine reasonable prices.
  • Negotiate and execute long‑term agreements with the supply base aligned with commodity strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Lead sourcing process from RFQ to contract signature.
  • Work with limited oversight from leadership.
  • Manage several projects at one time with a variety of complexity.
  • Communicate commodity or project status clearly to leadership.
  • Identify and pursue value‑adding opportunities with internal stakeholders (VA/VE).
  • Lead change management or work transfer projects for cost savings or better alignment with supply base.
  • Influence and support Collins strategic initiatives and change management projects.
  • Prime location near Charlotte, NC; Travel required 15%.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a university degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, OR an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience, OR in absence of a degree 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills (Excel, Access database, SAP).
  • Knowledge of supply chain practices and commodity management.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with connectors or harness assembly.
  • Results in negotiation, work transfer, or project execution.
  • Negotiation skills.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary range: USD 107,500 – 204,500. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, parental leave, paid time off, holidays, and other standard corporate benefits. Travel 15% required.

Travel and Work Location

Hybrid: Employees will work both onsite and offsite. Core location near Charlotte, NC; travel 15%.
