Job Description: In order to support Air Power Engineering - Mission Systems , Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Electronic Warfare Developer (d/m/f) The successful applicant will join the Combat Algorithm Development and Prototyping team within the Mission System Center of Competence, dedicated for bridging the gap between theoretical mathematical models and deployable, real-world combat systems. The team designs, codes, and validates high-performance algorithms that drive autonomous decision-making, target acquisition, and mission optimization. By rapidly prototyping these solutions, it is ensured that the relevant technologies are robust, scalable, and ready for integration into next-generation defence platforms.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Support the development of EMO Management software components for Spectrum Management and the EMO Decision Advisor
  • Work on the "classical (non-AI)" part of the EMO (Electro‑Magnetic Operations) Decision Advisor
  • Integrate software components up to TRL5 and (possibly) support the handover to the product development team
  • Perform integration and testing of software components in combination with the simulation tool JADES

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Master´s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to simplify complex, abstract concepts into practical software solutions.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Effective team player comfortable working in cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary engineering environments.
  • Precision & Quality: Strong attention to detail regarding code robustness, integration testing, and documentation standards.
  • English: Business fluent (written and spoken)
  • Required: Working with VS‑NfD data
  • Capability to translate (abstract) concepts into executable source code
  • Programming skills in C
  • Software development experience using an IDE (currently Eclipse is used)
  • Knowledge of and hands‑on experience with Doxygen, Git, Wireshark and Matlab
  • Knowledge of Linux on command line level
  • Software documentation
  • Desired: Knowledge about python and JADES
  • Knowledge about communication protocols (NDAS, CESMO, Link 16)
  • Knowledge about avionics software development
