Job Description

In order to support Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Supply Chain and Quality Manager (d/f/m) Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Supply Chain and Quality Manager (d/f/m) to join our team in Manching. In this critical role, you will be the driving force behind the performance of our Systems & Equipment supply chain. You will not only manage contract execution and supplier performance but will also act as a key technical and strategic interface. You are a technical expert in aerospace systems and equipment, possessing the ability to bridge the gap between complex engineering requirements and robust supply chain execution.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Strategic Supplier Management: Drive contract execution with a focus on On-Quality, On-Time (OQOT) deliveries. You will protect business operations by managing milestones, product life cycle reviews, and technical deliverables.
• Systems & Equipment Oversight: Manage the end-to-end supply chain for complex systems and equipment integrated into combat and UAV platforms. Ensure all components meet stringent defense-grade specifications.
• Performance Recovery & Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify technical and supply risks within the systems ecosystem. Implement preventative surveillance plans and robust recovery actions to ensure zero disruption to combat-ready platforms.
• Stakeholder Leadership: Act as the key technical interface between Engineering, Procurement, and external Tier-1 system suppliers. Contribute to Sub-Commodity strategies through active participation in Multi-Functional Teams (MFT).
• Technical Quality Assurance: Secure industrial maturity by conducting specialized supplier audits and assessments (e.g., APQP, IPCA, CCPs, Transfers of Work). You will manage corrective action plans to eliminate deviations and concessions.
• Global Oversight: While based in Manching, you will conduct on-site supplier audits and technical assessments at various locations worldwide to ensure compliance with defense standards and operational excellence.
• Governance: Contribute to Vendor Review Board (VRB) meetings and represent SCQ Operations in high-level forums.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Systems & Equipment Expertise: Advanced technical knowledge or proven expertise in Systems and Equipment (Avionics, Mission Systems, Sensors, or specialized UAV hardware) within the context of combat or unmanned aerial platforms.
• Education & Experience: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field and professional experience in a highly regulated industry (Aerospace preferred).
• Audit & Quality Mastery: Demonstrated experience in auditing (preferably as Airbus Supplier Lead Auditor), assessing supplier capability, and managing industrial maturity (APQP/PPAP frameworks).
• Language Proficiency: Full professional proficiency in both German and English is required. You must be able to negotiate and lead technical discussions in both languages.
• Defense Mindset: A deep understanding of the unique quality, security, and reliability requirements of combat and unmanned systems.
• Change Management: Proven ability to work autonomously in complex Supply Chain Change Management environments involving highly sensitive technology.
• Tools: Proficiency in Procurement IT tools and ERP systems.
• Analytical Leadership: Ability to monitor complex performance metrics and lead data-driven recovery actions for sophisticated technical components.
• Mobility: Willingness and ability to travel internationally for supplier audits and site visits.
