Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Product Assurance Manager to lead PA/QA activities for space hardware projects in a multinational setting. This on-site role is based in the Munich area, with occasional home-office days by agreement.

Responsibilities

• Define, implement, and regularly update PA and QA processes, plans, and procedures to ECSS/ESA standards and project requirements
• Ensure documentation is complete, up-to-date, and accessible to stakeholders
• Organize product and quality assurance roles within project teams
• Coordinate interactions between project managers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and collaboration
• Provide guidance and support to resolve PA/QA issues
• Lead the Project PA/QA team: set objectives, assign responsibilities, monitor performance
• Support project managers and work-package managers in establishing and maintaining quality-management arrangements throughout the project life cycle
• Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned with project quality objectives; monitor and analyze KPIs to drive continuous improvement
• Report analyses of best practices, non-conformities, trend analyses, audit statuses, KPIs, and cost-of-quality metrics
• Present monthly PA/QA status and improvement actions to executive leadership

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a Product Assurance role within the European space industry
• Deep knowledge of ESA/ECSS standards; ISO 9001 required; ISO 9100 desirable
• Fluent English (written and spoken, C1); German is beneficial but not required
• Proven track record delivering work-packages on time and within budget
• Strong knowledge of quality management tools and techniques (FMEA, 8D, root-cause analysis, KPI dashboards)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver capable of foreseeing PA/QA issues and implementing solutions
• Self-motivated team player, flexible, and eager to learn
• Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines
• Location: on-site in the Munich area; remote days by agreement (not fully remote)

Experience & Education

• Experience: Minimum 10 years in Product Assurance within European space hardware projects
• Education: Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar
• Tools/Standards: ECSS & ESA frameworks, ISO 9001/9100, QA tools (FMEA, 8D, root-cause analysis, KPI dashboards)

Location & Working Model

• Primary Location: Eching-Dietersheim, Munich area, Germany
• Working model: Predominantly on-site; ad-hoc home-office days by agreement
• Travel: None

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range: €80,000 - €110,000 gross per year (DOE)
