To strengthen our finance team and support our next phase of development, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to play a key role in financial planning, reporting, and performance management.
Role Summary
As the Financial Controller, you will act as a business partner to senior management, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and strategic insight across all financial aspects of the business. You will work closely with both internal leadership and the private equity owners, supporting value creation initiatives and providing robust financial information for decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Controlling & Reporting
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
- Prepare internal management reports, financial KPIs, variance analyses, and board packs
- Support group consolidation and liaise with group finance if applicable
- Ensure reporting meets PE-owner expectations (e.g., EBITDA adjustments, non-recurring items
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting process and regular reforecasts
- Develop rolling forecasts, cash flow planning, and sensitivity analyses
- Analyze performance vs. budget, and support corrective action planning
Private Equity Interface
- Prepare financial and operational data required by the PE owners
- Support post-acquisition integration, transformation tracking, and KPI monitoring
- Assist with preparation for board meetings, investor reporting, and value creation planning
Financial Processes & Compliance
- Drive improvements in controlling processes, tools, and systems (e.g., ERP optimization)
- Ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB), tax regulations, and audit requirements
- Support year-end audits and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
Qualifications & Requirements
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or similar
- 5+ years of experience in financial controlling, ideally in a PE-owned, international, or manufacturing company
- Strong understanding of German GAAP (HGB); IFRS knowledge is a plus
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Navision, or similar) and Excel-based financial modeling
- Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
- Fluent in German and proficient in English
