The role of Robotics Deployment Engineer (RDE) is to install systems in new build sites across UK & EU, starting from an empty building shell and finishing with the handing over of a working robotics floor.
Each RDE assumes responsibility for one or more aspects of the deployment, for example the safety fence, the floor safety systems, construction of the storage pods etc. The RDE manages the 3PA,
monitoring their progress and helping to solve any problems encountered. RDEs take ownership of
their areas of responsibility, reporting daily to the PM, keeping track of progress towards the project
targets and escalating issues as necessary.
Key job responsibilities:
A successful RDE needs to be methodical and organized in their approach. Good communication skills in English are essential as they will be interacting not only with the 3PA but also other vendors working on the site and the overall project management teams. Projects progress quickly, so the ability to acquire new skills rapidly is essential to success. RDEs need to think on their feet and be good at solving problems. A good general understanding of engineering, networking and IT is required, together with the ability to use common tools such as MS Office etc. We will provide any specialist training required to complete required tasks.
Basic Qualifications
Basic understanding for computer networking and several commands
- Changing network configuration on PC (Windows/Linux)
- Network connection between PC-Switch-Drive
- Execute some commands to check connectivity.
- Required to do some basic network troubleshooting if something happens.
Basic understanding for Linux environment
- Environment (path, process, etc)
- Execute basic Unix/Linux commands including basic scripting.
- Troubleshooting including command line.
Other General skills
- Well-organized and self-starter
- Willing/self-motivated to learn and develop skills.
- Able to engage effectively with other teams on/off site.
- Ability to work under pressure.
