IT-Administrator*in (w/m/d)

Profil is a renowned, internationally active contract research organization specializing in metabolic diseases, founded in 1999.

For many years, we have been collaborating with the pharmaceutical industry to develop new drugs for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, and related conditions. We also provide intensive support for the further development of known active ingredients as well as technical solutions for insulin administration and blood glucose monitoring.

Thanks to our many years of experience, we have built up comprehensive scientific know-how and unique expertise in the field of metabolic diseases. At our headquarters in Neuss, we currently employ approximately 400 people who make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life for people with diabetes.

We are seeking, as soon as possible, an IT Administrator (f/m/d) full‑time (38.5 hours).

Responsibilities

• Administration, operation, and continuous development of the on‑premises, hybrid, and, where applicable, cloud‑based IT infrastructure (servers, network, storage, security, client and terminal server environments) in clinical and administrative settings.
• Analysis, resolution, and sustainable remediation of issues in the system and network landscape, including root cause analysis, documentation, and implementation of preventive measures.
• Continuous optimization of IT processes, system landscapes, and operational workflows within the framework of change, release, and incident management.
• Contribution to IT architecture: evaluation of existing structures, collaboration on target architectures, and selection and implementation of new technologies.
• Operation and further development of IT monitoring for network components, server systems, data backup, and update management.
• Execution and monitoring of backups as well as regular disaster recovery tests.
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, involvement in IT strategies, and conceptual development of the future IT system landscape.
• Planning, management, and involvement in internal IT projects, including in collaboration with business departments and external service providers.

Requirements

• Successfully completed training as an IT specialist (system integration) or a comparable qualification, and solid professional experience in a comparable position.
• Very good knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and experience with Hyper‑V are a plus.
• Solid knowledge of Fortinet security components, HPE and Aruba hardware, and Veeam backup and data recovery solutions.
• Understanding of hybrid IT infrastructures and an interest in the further development of IT architectures and operational processes.
• A structured, independent, and responsible work style, quick comprehension, and a strong focus on customers, service, and solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken German skills, as well as good written and spoken English skills.
