About The Job
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Wet Cleaning Process Engineer (m/f/d) to join one of our clients and lead its Engineering strategies. In your day to day work, you’ll focus on streamlining the implementation of advanced wet cleaning processes for 2D material preparation and ensuring robust integration of chemical systems, and have the opportunity to contribute to various innovative projects. Our client is a fast-growing German tech startup revolutionizing the semiconductor industry by using 2D material graphene to create ultra-fast, energy-efficient chip fabrics, all within a transparent, open, and inclusive work environment.
- In this role, you’ll:Lead the development and implementation of wet cleaning processes for 2D material preparation and advanced device architectures.
- Manage key fab startup activities including tool installation, recipe validation, and process ramp-up.
- Define process specifications and collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to select and qualify single-wafer and batch wet clean tools.
- Establish and maintain a Process of Record (POR) for critical cleaning steps and define ramp-to-production protocols.
- Coordinate with facilities and equipment teams to ensure the robust integration of chemical delivery, return, and waste management systems.
- Implement and manage Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems to drive continuous process improvement.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and fab technicians as the organization grows.
- Your profile:Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor process engineering with a focus on wet cleaning processes.
- Deep knowledge of contamination control, surface preparation, and post-process cleaning.
- Experience working with cleaning chemistries and tools in both single-wafer and batch systems.
- Exposure to 2D material processing (e.g., graphene) is a strong advantage, with practical experience in fab startups or pilot line setups.
- Familiarity with chemical infrastructure systems for delivery, return, and waste management in a fab setting.
- Excellent communication skills in English is a must; German is a plus. Eligibility to work in Aachen (EU) is required.
