Job Title: Content Developer/Digital Media Specialist, Assessment Services

Location: Remote

Reports to: Instructional Products and Program Manager

Summary: The Content Developer/Digital Media Specialist is a member of the Instructional Products and Programs team within the Assessment Services Department. This position is responsible for training and managing external item writers, editing and writing test items, and developing test specifications/test objectives according to industry best practices. In addition, the Content Developer/Digital Media Specialist will develop and maintain online learning resources and test preparation materials, create videos, deliver webinars, and produce social media posts.

To be successful, the Content Developer/Digital Media Specialist must exhibit strong technical writing and editing skills and possess experience with video editing and design software. The Content Developer/Digital Media Specialist is expected to manage external item writers for multiple projects including developing and monitoring assignments; providing training, feedback, and support to item writers; and ensuring all editing is completed on time and to a high level of quality. The Content Developer/Digital Media Specialist will also be called upon to facilitate in-person and virtual content development workshops with external subject matter experts (SMEs) and to communicate regularly with clients.

Main Duties:

1. Create and maintain videos promoting/explaining test products
2. Develop and maintain training for in-house use
3. Develop and maintain online study materials for test candidates
4. Deliver webinars for test candidates and other stakeholders
5. Train external subject matter experts (SMEs) in best practices for exam content development
6. Manage SMEs during content development efforts
7. Edit and write test items according to industry best practices
8. Provide timely, constructive feedback to external item writers with varying levels of experience
9. Research and draft test specifications/test objectives
10. Manage multiple concurrent content development assignments, each on its own schedule, to ensure on-time delivery
11. Communicate directly with clients throughout the content development cycle
12. Facilitate in-person and online content development workshops with subject matter experts (SMEs)
13. Become proficient with Prometric’s internal, proprietary assessment technology; follow established procedures and guidelines, and comply with exam security practices
14. Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher
2. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
3. Strong editing and proofreading skills
4. Experience with group facilitation
5. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet exacting deadlines
6. Ability to meet quality and productivity metrics
7. Facility with learning and using new technology applications including video editing software (Camtasia or Premiere Pro), Articulate 360 and Adobe Creative Cloud suite
8. Basic knowledge of HTML
9. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
10. Strong organization and time management skills
11. Proven dependability
12. High regard for security
13. Knowledge of assessment industry best practices for content development a plus
14. Experience writing test items preferred; experience in credentialing a plus
15. Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings, as well as to travel as needed (potentially up to 10%)
